Many companies that are currently running the IBM N Series or the DS Series, or a combination of the two, may be considering getting a new and upgraded product to meet their changing business needs. However, instead of choosing an entirely new solution from IBM, companies may instead want to consider NetApp for an upgrade.
The IBM N Series platform for storage is actually the NetApp FAS storage. It was merely rebranded with the IBM name. The same is true of IBM’s DS Series, which is actually the E Series from NetApp. IBM announced that it will stop selling the NetApp FAS systems in their N Series and will work on their own systems instead.
This guide examines the various storage arrays and their counterparts to simplify the decision to go with NetApp rather than move to an entirely new platform with IBM.
